Factory Five doesn’t get as much love as it deserves around these parts

If I don’t hit a deer and total my WRX out in 10 years I am going to buy that kit and make that damn car if it is the last thing I do. If I do wreck the WRX, I will be starting earlier.

I had a buddy who totaled his WRX after a mishap in the canyons, I don’t know why I didn’t pull for him to build one of these.

A very reputable Subaru tuner in the northeast has said S2000s are better than 818s.

You’re better off with that motor on a VW floor pan kit car.

S2000 are better than lots of things. Especially if you consider usable performance and driving enjoyment.
An 818 is unique and interesting. It’s something that not not only has a soul, it has part of your soul(assuming you built it).

No. You have an 818 Coupe.

That’s quite literally an impossible statement to make, since the 818 is a full on kit car. So is an S2000 better than the lowest dollar 818 you can build? Better than the insane track version that pulls 1.7 lateral g’s? Better than the one built with all kinds of high performance custom parts? I mean, the 818 is a unique car almost every time, so saying the S2000 is better is just plain stupid.

When I make one, it won’t be just for me. It is going to be a learning experience for my children. I don’t care if its as good as a Cayman or S2000. I’ve always just wanted to build a car with my children like they did on Home improvement.

I don’t really care about the performance. I care more about the experience for myself and my children.
